The ELCA Youth Gathering was several months ago, but the youth who attended are still thinking and reflecting on it.  Below is one reflection from Katie Paff, a youth from St. Stephen, Pompano Beach, who attended the Youth Gathering in 2018:

What was your favorite thing about the Youth Gathering?

Just being around people my own age who love and beleave in one god like me.

Who were one or two speakers that said something that really connected with you?  What did they say?  How did it connect?

Nadia Bolz-Webber because she had a really good message of whatever is going on right now will not be your ultimate reality…so just knowing I am not alone.

How did the Youth Gathering strengthen your faith or your understanding of God?

Just knowing he is always there and knowing that he will never turn his back on you and just to trust him and his word.

What is one thing you would say to someone thinking about going to the Youth Gathering, but not sure if it’s worth it?

Do it. You will have the time of your life and you will meet all kinds of people there…so just do it.
