Congregational Lay Leadership
We believe that we are freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor. It’s not the work of a few; we are all called by God through our baptism to participate in what God is up to in the world.
In this synod, the diakonia program is one way rostered ministers can encourage and support leadership development within their congregations.
Synod parish deacons are another way lay leaders and rostered ministers work together for serve God’s people.
In addition, Women of the ELCA and Lutheran Men in Mission provide resources, experiences, and opportunities for discipleship and faith development.
