Thank You for sharing the article about Panama City. Since we own a house there where our disabled daughter and her son live – with lots and lots of damage/issues – it has been frustrating getting things done since qualified people to do the work are scarce and things like roof damage have resulted in additional problems such as major mold problems because the repairs have not been made. The increasing problems result in increased damage expenses not identified by insurance adjusters when they first visited properties (and many adjusters spent such a short amount of time on the properties that they miss many problems). Just today – our insurance finally met with our RV specialist and totaled our motor home that is parked in the back yard and four pine trees hit it – they initially said it was repairable which was ridiculous. Now we can go about getting it removed from the property so the rest of our yard can be cleaned up and the fence replaced (necessary since we have a pool – but fences are not covered by insurance for wind damage). We are still waiting on roof work, but we had to get an advocate to represent us for damage to our house and they are finally getting the mold dealt with (some ceilings need replacing after they finish drying out the attic). Roof damage is the result of a neighbor’s tree hitting one end of our house. All of this poses increased risks for our disabled daughter. Thank Goodness her dad is able to come down from Alabama and check on things for us and help us figure out what needs doing as well as helping with her medical appointments in north Alabama.
