Florida-Bahamas Synod World Hunger Team

The World Hunger Synod Team is responsible for raising World Hunger awareness within the Florida Bahamas Synod.

What can the World Hunger Team do for you?

• Present or set up a display table to your Conference, congregation, Sunday School, other teams, etc.
• Assist you plan and execute World Hunger fundraisers or congregational giving using our excellent World Hunger resources
• Complete World Hunger Grant application.

• 795 million people around the world – that’s 1 in 10 – can’t access the food they need to live active, healthy lives.
• 1 billion people live in extreme poverty on less than $1.25 per day.
  That’s 14.5% of the world’s population.
• At some point in 2014, more than 48 million people in the United States were unsure where their next meal might come from.
• 7 million Americans were living in poverty in 2014. For a family of four, this means their annual household income was below $23,850.
• On 2015 your support of ELCA World Hunger totaled over $21 million.

Our 2016 goal is $24 million!  As of September 2016 the ELCA has reached $8.8 million

towards this goal.
