The ELCA Young Adult in Global Mission (YAGM) program this year includes 2 participants from the Florida Bahamas Synod. The Global Mission Committee has added support for Ben Smith, Rebecca Williams, and Kyle Marie Jacobsen to our list of projects for this year. By that we mean:
- Keeping them and their host families in prayer for a productive and faithful experience
- Sending financial support for their year abroad to the ELCA
- Writing articles like this to introduce them to the greater Synod
- Appealing to others to send financial support (Ben, Rebecca and Kyle need to raise $4000 towards the cost of their year abroad)
- Staying in touch with Ben, Rebecca, and Kyle through their blog posts and sharing that information on the FB Synod website
To donate online to either Rebecca, Ben, or Kyle directly – go to https://community.elca.org/yagm/give. Click on the drop down list to find their name and go to their specific donation site.
You can also choose to donate to the YAGM program as a whole or send a check to the FB Synod office with YAGM written in the memo line.
If you are a member of Thrivent and receive Thrivent Choice Dollars, you can designate them to Ben, Rebecca, or Kyle by selecting the FB Synod Office as the recipient. You must follow up with an email to Michele Hilton (micheleh@fbsynod.org) or Kim Raymond (kimr@fbsynod.org) stating where or to whom you want the money to go to and they will send it on to the appropriate ELCA office.
