An important message was issued by the ELCA Churchwide offices this week regarding congregations with Boy Scouts charters. Due to the ongoing bankruptcy and lawsuit claims in the Boy Scouts information, congregations need to carefully read the document titled Boy Scout Bankruptcy FAQ. You can find this document here.
And finally, it’s been a very busy and anxious election season for all of us here in America this year. This weekend, Joe Biden was named President-Elect of the United States. I’d like to take a moment to pray with you all…
Gracious God, we pray today for unity and peace in our nation. May our neighbors join together and love one another as our Lord Jesus Christ has commanded us. We pray for the safety, well-being, and continued service of both former President-Elect Joe Biden and President Donald Trump, as well as for their families. We also humbly pray for their supporters, that they may find comfort and peace in Your presence after this difficult political season. And finally, we give you thanks for our veterans, who have protected our sacred democracy and our right to vote since the founding of our country.
Before we close this Synod Update, Presiding Bishop Elizabeth Eaton has also offered a prayer for patience and peace during this election season. Let’s take a look…
