August 7-10, 2017, the ELCA will host its first ever Rostered Ministers Gathering in Atlanta at the Sheraton Downtown (http://www.sheratonatlantahotel.com/). This will be an opportunity for our Rostered Ministers to assemble for worship, education, and fellowship.

We will gather under the theme of “On the Way … Together,” using the Emmaus Road story (Luke 24:13-35) to guide our time together. This time is an opportunity to gather our Rostered Ministers from around this church to remind one another that we are far better together than we are apart. We are on our way together as a church with our ecumenical partnerships; with our continued conversations about racism and reconciliation; and towards continued reformation.  We will center ourselves each day around Word and Sacrament in worship. We will have opportunities to be in fellowship and to dwell in God’s Word. We will hear from keynote speakers. Then we will be sent forth into this world to love and serve the world in Christ’s name.

There will be two pre-gatherings for this event: Federal Chaplains and Young Rostered Ministers (20’s and 30’s).

Limited Scholarships available:

Understanding the financial realities of ministry and of an event of this nature, the ELCA has limited funds available for scholarships to help in off-setting the cost incurred by attending this event. This is intended especially for those individuals who are in financial need and whose congregations or ministry settings otherwise would not be able to offer subsidy assistance. Each scholarship application must be signed by the applicant and their synod bishop and returned before on the deadline (March 8). These funds are limited and will be first come first served.
