Owners of THRIVENT products (life insurance, Long Term Care insurance, annuities, etc.) earn THRIVENT Choice Dollars that they are able to donate to registered organizations, churches, and schools.
The Florida Bahamas Synod is registered and can receive these donations.
The THRIVENT member is notified how many THRIVENT Choice dollars they have earned and must designate the recipient in order to make the dollars be of benefit.
If 2016 THRIVENT Choice Dollars are not designated by March 31, 2017 – they are lost, kaput, gone forever! Don’t let this happen to you! Go online and check your THRIVENT Choice Dollars account and designate your dollars today! Or you can call 1-800-847-4836 – and a THRIVENT representative will help you with your designation over the phone. Or call your THRIVENT representative and they will help you manage your THRIVENT Choice Dollars.
After designating your THRIVENT Choice Dollars to the Synod – send an email to Michele Hilton (micheleh@fbsynod.org) indicating where you want the Synod to put the money to use. THRIVENT Choice Dollars can be used for:
- Supporting the Synod YAGMs (Young Adults in Global Mission) – Rebecca Williams and Ben Smith
- Global Mission projects
- World Hunger
- Disaster Relief
THRIVENT ACTION Teams are designed to involve more members in the church and community. THRIVENT members are able to sponsor 2 Action Teams in a calendar year. A need or project is identified – either a fund raiser, educational program, or service project – and an application describing the project is sent to THRIVENT by the THRIVENT member heading up the ACTION team. If approved, THRIVENT sends a $250 VISA card to the member to help with getting the project started.
- So if your Youth Group wants to have a World Hunger Experience like the one at Synod Assembly, the $250 can pay for the food and money donated by participants can go to World Hunger.
- Or use the $250 to buy the food for a Spaghetti dinner and money donated can go to a Global Mission project or towards YAGM support.
If you are a member of THRIVENT – Please consider sponsoring an ACTION Team. Speak with your THRIVENT representative and they will be happy to assist you in finding a project and completing the application.
If you are a member of a congregation and see a project that could use $250 to get it going, speak with your THRIVENT representative who can work with you to find a THRIVENT member willing to sponsor the project.
If you belong to, or support, non-profit organizations in the community and see a need – please let your THRIVENT representative know, as they may be able to help you with an ACTION Team project.
With hundreds of THRIVENT members throughout the Synod who can sponsor 2 projects/year – we have the potential to generate thousands of dollars back into our Synod sponsored projects, congregations, and communities!!
