Global Mission Committee Chair, PJ May, gives an update on the Global Mission Race at the 2016 Synod Assembly.
First – on behalf of the FB Synod Global Mission Committee, I want to thank everyone who stopped by our display table at the Synod Assembly and voted for our display!! The prize basket held lots of summer fun goodies that I shared with other Global Mission Committee members who helped with the display – Chris Klafs and Marcee Strickland.
Second – thank you to everyone who participated in our fund raising race by donating to our three projects – the Haiti Vehicle Fund, the Danielle Dokmann Parsonage renovation fund in Surinam, and “La Finca” in Cuba.

The race continues…………..
The finish line is $5000! Whichever project reaches the finish line first gets an additional $500 (thanks to an anonymous donor). The Global Mission Committee will continue to accept donations for the three projects through November 1st. We hope congregations and conferences throughout the Florida Bahamas Synod will participate in donating to the race and help fund these companion church projects.
Global Mission Sunday is October 2nd – a perfect time to celebrate our global church companions and take up a collection!
