“Healing Christian Divisions” lecture at St. Thomas University, Miami
March 27 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
To mark the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, which resulted in a segment of Christians breaking away from the Catholic Church to eventually form different Protestant denominations, the Archdiocese of Miami, through the Center of Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue of St. Thomas University, will hold a presentation titled ‘Healing Christian Divisions’ on Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at St. Thomas University’s chapel.
This presentation is part of the many conciliatory gatherings that will take place worldwide. ‘Healing Christian Divisions’ will focus on reflecting on the history, nature and impact of inter-Church divisions, and will look deeply into the healing of religious divisions and divisiveness.
Presenters will include Bishop Donald J. McCoid, Bishop Emeritus of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod (ELCA), and Dr. John Borelli, U.S. Jesuit Coordinator for Interreligious Dialogue and Relations and Special Assistant for Catholic Identity and Dialogue to President John J. DeGioia of Georgetown University.
St. Thomas University is located at 16401 NW 37th Ave, Miami Gardens, FL.
